Here' s my another love of the year :D

I am becoming a maniac about colored pencils!!! i just want them all...lol!!
Not yet done yet...some more might just follow ;)
And oh yes!..I wanted to show them off :P

and so here we are :D ..............

My two loves combined....rice and cherry= cherry rice..lol... :D
Found the recipe online...though didnt stick to it...was too sweet for my taste :)
here's mine if you want to try :)

You need:
2-green chilli,
1-onion,
2-cups of seeded cherries,
pre-cooked rice (around 3 cups),
italian seasoning(thyme, celery etc.),
black pepper powder,
cardamom powder,
3-cloves,
salt to taste,
sugar 2-3 spoons,
half lemon.

1) Pre cook rice in salted water

2) You need to prepare cherry syrup (or what i call syrup for lack of better word)
heet a pan, add some butter/ghee, add half of your seeded cherries, let them cook for some time until they wilt a bit, add 2-3 spoon sugar, stir till sugar melts, add 1 cup water, let it cook until it is of syrupy consistency. Keep aside in a bowl.

3) Heat another pan, add some ghee/butter and let it heat, add chopped green chillies and cloves, add chopped onion, stir for a minute, add remaining cherries, stir till onion turns transparent.

4) Add half spoon black pepper, 1/3 spoon cardamom, salt to taste, 2/3 spoon seasoning, let this all cook properly, take this out in a separate bowl.

5) Spread 2 1/2 cups pre cooked rice on a platter, separate grains with a fork.

6) In the same pan add half of the rice, add a layer of cherry mixture on top, add another layer of rice followed by rest of mixture.
Now pour on top your cherry syrup.
Sprinkle some salt to adjust taste, add 1/2 lemon juice
Mix all of it thoroughly with a fork.

Voila!! You are all set with spicy-sour-sweet cherry rice :D
Something different and absolutely yummy :)
Do try it!! :)
